What Is SSL & How to Enable It

SSL keeps your website secure and trusted by visitors and search engines. This guide explains what SSL is and how to enable it on your Hostigo hosting.

1. What is SSL?

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encrypts the data sent between your website and your visitors. This protects login details, contact forms, and customer information.

2. Why SSL is Important

SSL displays the lock icon in the browser and changes your website address to HTTPS. It builds trust and improves your Google ranking.

3. Free SSL with Hostigo

All Hostigo hosting plans include a free SSL certificate that you can enable from cPanel.

4. How to Enable SSL

Log in to your Client Portal at https://hostigo.co.za/billing/login, open your hosting service, and click Login to cPanel. In cPanel, open SSL/TLS Status and click Run AutoSSL.

5. Force HTTPS (Optional)

Once SSL is enabled, you can force your website to use HTTPS so all visitors use the secure version of your site.
