These Acceptable Usage Policy (“AUP”) terms apply to all use of services provided by Hostigo (Pty) Ltd, trading as Hostigo.co.za (“Hostigo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). The AUP forms part of your agreement with Hostigo including the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
By using Hostigo’s services, you (“Client”, “you”, “your”) agree to comply with this AUP and all applicable laws and regulations.
You must use Hostigo services only for lawful, legitimate, and authorised purposes and in a manner that does not violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right. You must not use our services to:
Store, upload, host, or distribute content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harmful, or encourages illegal activity.
Engage in activity that is fraudulent, deceptive, promotes scams (e.g., Ponzi schemes, investment fraud) or other bad-faith practices.
Transmit, publish, or store material that violates intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, trade secret, etc.).
Engage in phishing, spoofing, or impersonating another person or organisation.
Facilitate or contribute to activities such as identity theft, hacking, or the distribution of malware.
You must not use Hostigo services to:
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other systems, accounts, or networks, including port scanning, vulnerability probing, or brute-force attacks.
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of Hostigo services or the network of any other user, including denial-of-service attacks.
Transmit malicious code, viruses, worms, ransomware, spyware, or any software designed to harm or impair functionality.
Abuse email or messaging systems, including relaying spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or operating open SMTP relays without valid consent.
Hostigo’s services are intended for hosting standard website content, email communication, and related services. You must not use services for:
Storage or distribution of files, media, or data that are unrelated to an active website or hosted application.
Operating file repositories, torrents, peer-to-peer file sharing, backup vaults, or similar functions that are not covered under your purchased plan.
Hosting or distributing adult content, unless explicitly permitted under a specific agreement and lawful in your region.
Hostigo may impose reasonable usage limits on CPU, memory, disk space, bandwidth, and other system resources. You may not:
Consume resources in excessive amounts that negatively impact the performance of the hosting platform or other customers.
Run background processes, cron jobs, or persistent applications that exceed typical web hosting usage without prior authorisation.
Use shared hosting accounts for high-performance computing, large-scale databases, or similar activities beyond the plan’s intended scope.
Email services provided by Hostigo are intended for legitimate, permitted use only. You must not:
Send unsolicited bulk messages, marketing emails without consent, or messages that violate email best practices.
Use hosting email servers for third-party mailing lists without express permission.
Attempt to relay email for unauthorised use outside normal client functions.
You are responsible for the security of your account credentials. You must:
Keep all passwords, authentication information, and access credentials secure.
Ensure that no unauthorised person has access to your account.
Immediately report any suspected compromise of account security to Hostigo.
Hostigo may monitor and investigate user activity to enforce this AUP. If Hostigo determines, in its sole discretion, that you have violated this policy, Hostigo may take actions including but not limited to:
Issuing warnings or temporary restrictions
Suspending or terminating your account without notice
Deleting prohibited or harmful content
Reporting violations to law enforcement or relevant authorities
All remedial actions taken by Hostigo under this AUP are at Hostigo’s sole discretion and are without liability to Hostigo.
If you become aware of any violations of this AUP, you should promptly report them to:
Hostigo may update or revise this AUP at any time. The most current version will be published on Hostigo’s website. Continued use of services after changes constitute acceptance of the updated policy.
